- Check engine start-up response and noise under load
- Assess air filter, fan belt, and radiator condition
- Inspect for any signs of fuel leaks or emissions anomalies
- Replace fluids if thresholds are breached or by schedule
3. Hydraulic & Transmission Check
- Check lift, tilt, side-shift functions under load
- Inspect hydraulic cylinders, lines, and mast chains
- Lubricate pivot points and verify chain tension
- Observe transmission smoothness and shift engagement
- Record anomalies in travel performance or responsiveness
4. Brake, Tyres & Steering
- Test service and parking brakes on gradient if possible
- Inspect pads, fluid, and check for any brake fade
- Check tyre condition, tread, rim integrity, and inflation
- Verify steering wheel free-play and response smoothness
- Align wheels and tighten lug nuts if necessary
5. Electrical, Lighting & Safety
- Check horn, reverse alarm, lights, and signals
- Inspect battery terminals, casing, and charge level
- Test alternator and starter motor function
- Review fuse box, warning indicators, and backup systems
- Verify presence and expiry of fire extinguisher
6. Final Safety & Reporting
- Confirm load capacity plate visibility and legibility
- Ensure seatbelt, overhead guard, and kill switch work
- Log findings in weekly report and flag faults immediately
