Pre-Operation Inspection

- Verify equipment is parked safely with brake engaged
- Record start of shift inspection time and environmental conditions
Tyre & Wheel Assembly Check
- Check tyre pressure and tread for 40-ton capacity load support
- Inspect for cracks, embedded objects, or wear
- Verify lug nut tightness and absence of missing nuts
- Inspect rim and wheel assembly for distortion or weld damage
- Check bearing for noise, looseness, or overheating
Diesel Engine System
- Check engine oil, coolant, fuel, and transmission fluid levels
- Inspect air filter, radiator, belts, and hoses
- Start engine and listen for abnormal sounds or emissions
- Record RPM stability, exhaust color, and vibration levels
- Ensure fluid caps are secure and leak-free
Hydraulic System
- Check hydraulic fluid level and clarity
- Inspect hoses, seals, and cylinders for leaks or wear
- Test lift, tilt, and side-shift functions for responsiveness
- Ensure mast chain tension and carriage operation are smooth
- Lubricate moving parts as needed
Safety System and Controls
- Verify seat belt, operator guards, and overhead protection
- Test horn, reverse alarm, and lights
- Check brakes, steering, and kill switch for full function
- Ensure fire extinguisher is charged and accessible
- Review load capacity plate and ensure visibility
Operational Performance Check
- Drive forward and reverse under light and heavy load conditions
- Monitor for engine power, vibration, and hydraulic smoothness
- Observe responsiveness of controls during operation
- Note load stability and shift resistance under 40T stress
- Record inspection notes and submit for supervisor review
