Annual diesel forklift procedure for OSHA-compliant audits, system performance checks, and preventive maintenance.
1. Comprehensive System Assessment
- Perform visual and structural inspection of the entire forklift and work environment
- Log total run hours, review maintenance records and incident logs
- Verify operator certifications and 30T load handling training
- Prepare documentation for OSHA/ISO audit readiness
2. Diesel Engine & Exhaust Evaluation
- Check engine performance: idle smoothness, temperature, emissions
- Perform oil and fuel system analysis, including injector and filter checks
- Inspect turbocharger, air intake, and exhaust manifold for defects
- Flush and replace coolant as per manufacturer specs
3. Transmission & Hydraulic System Check
- Replace transmission fluid, inspect clutch or torque converter (if equipped)
- Test hydraulic pump output and actuator function at full load
- Inspect hoses, cylinders, filters; replace worn components
- Verify mast operation and chain lubrication
4. Safety Systems & Brake Certification
- Inspect service and parking brake components for wear and operation
- Check seatbelt, operator guard, and fire extinguisher compliance
- Test backup alarm, horn, lights, and interlock mechanisms
- Validate load rating plate and operator decals
5. Electrical System Diagnostics
- Test battery voltage and alternator output
- Inspect wiring harnesses, fuse boxes, relays, and dashboard electronics
- Verify all indicator lights and error code logs
6. Final Reporting & Compliance Review
- Document all findings and test results
- Update preventive maintenance and repair schedules
- Generate OSHA and ISO-compliant yearly inspection report
- Submit performance recommendations to fleet management
