- Check engine oil level and condition; top up if required

- Verify fuel tank level and fuel cap tightness
- Ensure no visible leaks under forklift
- Start engine and allow idle stabilization
Hydraulic & Lifting System
- Check hydraulic fluid level and clarity
- Inspect hoses and cylinders for cracks or leaks
- Test lift, tilt, and side-shift functions (no load)
- Verify chain lubrication and equal tension
- Inspect forks for straightness, cracks, and proper locking
Brake & Steering Control
- Test foot brake, parking brake, and emergency stop
- Check brake fluid level and inspect for leaks
- Ensure steering operates smoothly and without binding
- Observe for excessive play or drift during turn
- Ensure steering wheel returns to center
Safety Devices & Electrical Systems
- Check horn, backup alarm, and all exterior lights
- Verify seat belt functionality and wear
- Ensure fire extinguisher is accessible and charged
- Check overhead guard and operator compartment for integrity
- Review warning labels for visibility
Wheels & Tyres – 30T Rating
- Inspect tyre tread depth and pressure (if pneumatic)
- Check solid tyres for chunking, flat spots, and cracks
- Ensure lug nuts are tight and rims show no visible cracks
- Check valve stem caps are present and undamaged
- Visually inspect all four corners for ground contact issues
