Inspect your 8FDU35 daily to ensure workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance.
Tyres, Rims & Bearings
- Check tyre inflation (if pneumatic) and wear indicators
- Inspect solid tyre surfaces for cracking, flat spots
- Check rim flanges for rust, distortion or cracking
- Grease or inspect wheel bearings for lubrication and looseness
Engine & Fluid Levels
- Check diesel fuel level and cap seal
- Inspect engine oil for color, level and viscosity
- Check coolant in overflow tank and radiator
- Inspect fuel filter housing for water or sludge
- Record hours since last oil change
Hydraulic & Brake System
- Check hydraulic fluid reservoir level and foam condition
- Visually inspect hoses for rubbing, wear or leaks
- Check brake reservoir and inspect pedal firmness
- Engage parking brake; verify resistance and hold
- Test side shift, tilt and lift under no-load
Forks & Mast System
- Check fork blade straightness and spacing
- Measure heel wear and compare to spec (10% max)
- Lubricate mast rollers and side guide channels
- Inspect fork locking pins and latches
- Operate lift fully up/down and tilt forward/back
Safety Equipment & Operator Cab
- Verify seatbelt function and anchoring
- Test horn, lights, alarms, beacon and indicators
- Inspect overhead guard, mirrors and wipers
- Ensure fire extinguisher is mounted and charged
- Check visibility through mast and overhead guard
Start-up Function Check
- Cold start engine and listen for exhaust tone, smoke
- Test inching pedal (if equipped)
- Drive forward/reverse 15 ft and verify smooth clutch
- Check RPM stability at idle and warm-up behavior
- Observe dash indicators and diagnostics for warnings
Logbook & Defect Reporting
- Document operator name, hours, inspection date
- Record issues found and submit report
- Tag out forklift if critical issue is detected
- Verify prior shift defects were corrected
