Tyres and Wheels
- Inspect tyre pressure using gauge (all positions).
- Check tyre tread depth and wear pattern.
- Examine sidewalls for cuts, cracks, or bubbles.
- Ensure lug nuts are present and torqued.
- Visually inspect wheel rims for cracks, dents, or rust.
- Check for hub leaks or grease residue around bearings.
Fluid Checks
- Check engine oil level and look for dark or foamy oil.
- Inspect hydraulic reservoir and check sight gauge.
- Verify coolant level and inspect hoses for swelling or leaks.
- Top off diesel fuel and check cap integrity.
- Examine undercarriage for any dripping fluid or residue.
- Check brake fluid and ensure cap is secure.
- Smell for unusual odors near fluid components.
Forks & Mast
- Inspect fork blades for straightness and heel thickness.
- Check fork pins, locks, and side shift brackets.
- Lubricate mast rails, rollers, and tilt cylinders.
- Test lift/lower and tilt functions under no-load.
- Listen for unusual noises during mast movement.
- Ensure fork tips align evenly at floor level.
Operator Compartment & Safety Systems
- Inspect seatbelt function and tension.
- Test horn, backup alarm, and strobe light.
- Ensure mirrors and overhead guard are intact and clean.
- Verify parking brake engages fully and holds incline.
- Inspect fire extinguisher charge and tag date.
- Check safety labels, load plate, and capacity information.
Startup and Operational Test
- Start engine and monitor oil pressure and temperature gauges.
- Listen for abnormal engine or transmission noise.
- Drive forward and reverse; test smooth acceleration and deceleration.
- Turn full left and right; verify steering resistance and alignment.
- Lift a standard pallet to full height and tilt; check for drift or lag.
- Check indicator panel for warning lights and alarms.
