Pre-Inspection Safety
- Park on level surface, engage parking brake
- Lower forks to ground and turn off engine
- Allow cooling and apply lockout/tagout if needed

- Secure area around the forklift for safe access
Hydraulic System Inspection
- Check hydraulic fluid level and top off if low
- Inspect hoses and connections for leaks or cracks
- Test lift and tilt cylinders for smooth operation
- Observe for jerky or delayed hydraulic responses
- Lubricate fittings and pivot points as per spec
Brake and Safety Systems
- Check service and parking brake performance
- Inspect pads and drums for wear or damage
- Verify functionality of horn and backup alarm
- Ensure fire extinguisher is in place and charged
- Inspect seatbelt and overhead guard condition
Engine and Cooling Checks
- Inspect diesel engine for leaks and abnormal noise
- Check coolant and oil levels; refill if needed
- Inspect air filter and replace if clogged
- Ensure radiator fins are clean and unobstructed
- Start engine and observe for black/white smoke
Tyre and Wheel Assessment
- Check all tyres for wear, damage, and air pressure
- Inspect rims for cracks or warping
- Ensure lug nuts are properly torqued
- Look for signs of uneven tread wear
- Verify smooth rotation and no axle wobble
Fork and Mast Assembly
- Check forks for cracks and heel wear
- Ensure fork locks engage securely
- Inspect mast chains and adjust tension
- Lubricate mast rollers and tilt cylinders
- Test mast raise/lower operation under load
Battery & Electrical System
- Inspect battery terminals for corrosion
- Check electrolyte levels and top off if needed
- Verify lights and indicators function properly
- Secure all cables and connections
- Record battery voltage under load
