2. Diesel Engine & Fuel System
- Check oil level and top off if needed
- Drain water separator and inspect diesel clarity
- Inspect coolant level in radiator and overflow
- Clean air filter or replace if heavily soiled
- Start engine and check for abnormal smoke/noise
3. Forks, Mast & Hydraulics
- Measure heel thickness on both forks
- Lubricate mast chains and tilt cylinders
- Inspect hydraulic lines and connections for leaks
- Operate lift/tilt functions and check response
- Inspect carriage assembly and backrest welds
4. Brakes & Safety Devices
- Test service and parking brakes on incline
- Inspect seat belt condition and function
- Check lights, horn, backup alarm, and mirrors
- Verify overhead guard integrity
- Confirm visibility of load capacity plate
5. Battery & Electrical Components
- Inspect terminals for corrosion and clean if needed
- Measure battery voltage and charge if low
- Check indicator lights, dashboard, and gauges
- Ensure secure fit of wiring harnesses and covers
- Test alternator and starter motor under load
6. Final Documentation & Reporting
- Record all inspection results in logbook
- Report defects to supervisor for immediate action
- Tag equipment if unsafe for use
- Document corrective actions taken (if any)
- File inspection report in maintenance system
