Pre-Shift Visual Check
- Walk around the forklift inspecting tyres, forks, and mast.
- Check for visible leaks, damage, or loose components.
- Ensure battery is properly connected and secured.
- Review previous inspection logs and maintenance reports.
Battery System Inspection
- Check battery charge level and record voltage.
- Inspect battery terminals for corrosion or looseness.
- Verify water level in cells (for flooded lead-acid types).
- Test charging system functionality and indicator lights.
Hydraulic & Mast Function Check
- Operate lift, tilt, and side-shift functions smoothly.
- Listen for unusual noises or jerking motions.
- Check hydraulic fluid level and visible lines for leaks.
- Inspect chains, pins, and cylinders for wear or damage.
Safety System Verification
- Test horn, lights, and all audible alarms.
- Ensure emergency stop system works correctly.
- Check seat belt, overhead guard, and load plate visibility.
- Verify parking brake and all safety indicators are operational.
Drive and Steering Test
- Move forklift forward and reverse to test acceleration.
- Turn steering fully left and right for response check.
- Test deceleration, brake engagement, and neutral gear.
- Document any abnormal handling or control issues.
Inspection Documentation
- Complete all inspection fields in the digital checklist.
- Note any faults or maintenance needs observed.
- Submit daily report through Oxmaint platform.
- Sign electronically and notify supervisor if needed.
