Doosan Bobcat D25S – Daily Inspection Procedure
Perform a thorough daily inspection to maintain forklift safety, efficiency, and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Pre-Operation Safety
- Park forklift on level surface, set brake, and turn off engine
- Allow cooling if engine has recently run
- Ensure proper lighting and safe inspection environment
- Check previous inspection logs for outstanding issues
Diesel Engine Inspection
- Check engine oil using dipstick and inspect for contaminants
- Verify coolant level and inspect radiator for leaks or damage
- Inspect fuel system for secure caps and visible leaks
- Check battery terminals for corrosion and tightness
Hydraulic & Brake System
- Check hydraulic fluid level and hose condition
- Test all lift and tilt hydraulic functions without load
- Inspect brake fluid and test service and parking brakes
- Look for signs of brake wear or hydraulic leakage
Forks, Mast, and Carriage
- Check forks for straightness and cracks
- Verify fork locks and pins are secure
- Inspect mast chains for even tension and lubrication
- Ensure backrest is undamaged and carriage is secure
Controls, Safety Devices & Tires
- Test horn, lights, and backup alarm
- Inspect tires for wear, cracks, and correct inflation
- Ensure operator seat, belt, and FOPS/ROPS structure is secure
- Verify steering is responsive with no unusual play
Documentation
- Log findings on checklist form
- Report unsafe conditions or failed checks immediately
- Ensure all compliance items meet OSHA 1910.178(q)
- Sign off the inspection and notify maintenance team if needed
