- Test lift, tilt, and side-shift for smooth operation
- Check forks and mast for damage or wear
- Lubricate mast chains if needed
- Inspect steering and tire alignment
Operational Functionality Test
- Start electric motor and listen for abnormal sounds
- Test forward and reverse movement under no-load
- Verify brake performance and stop distance
- Check all control levers and steering precision
- Confirm normal performance in narrow aisle driving
Documentation & Compliance
- Log all inspection results with date and operator info
- Flag and report any detected faults or abnormalities
- Remove forklift from service if unsafe conditions exist
- Verify checklist complies with OSHA 1910.178(q)(7)
- Archive report for audit and maintenance tracking
