Pre-Operation Safety Assessment
- Confirm operator holds valid high-capacity narrow aisle certification
- Verify intended load weights do not exceed rated capacity
- Inspect work area for clear aisles and overhead clearance
- Wear proper PPE and verify safety equipment availability
- Review load handling plan for shift
Battery & Electrical System Checks
- Check battery charge level is adequate for the shift
- Inspect terminals and connections for tightness and corrosion
- Verify charger disconnection and electrical readiness
- Inspect cables for insulation damage or wear
Steering & Travel Controls Verification
- Test steering responsiveness and alignment in a clear area
- Check tyres for correct pressure and tread condition
- Verify wheel alignment and tracking precision
- Ensure smooth control operation for forward/reverse travel
Hydraulic System & Mast Functionality
- Check hydraulic fluid level and absence of leaks
- Test mast lifting, tilting, and side-shifting under load conditions
- Inspect mast chains for tension, wear, and lubrication
- Verify fork condition and secure attachment
Safety Devices & Emergency Systems
- Test emergency stop functionality and full system shutdown
- Verify horn, backup alarm, lights, and warning devices work properly
- Inspect seatbelt and operator restraint system for correct function
- Ensure load capacity plate is clearly visible and legible
- Confirm load monitoring systems and stability controls are functional
Documentation & Final Authorization
- Complete daily inspection checklist with operator signature
- Record hour meter reading for maintenance tracking
- Report issues to supervisor before operation begins
- Ensure digital or paper record of inspection is filed
