Crown FC 4000 Daily Inspection Procedure
Follow this daily procedure to maintain safety, performance, and compliance for the Crown FC 4000 forklift.
Pre-Operation Visual Check
- Inspect the forklift for visible damage, leaks, and obstructions around the unit
- Verify battery charge level and cable connections
- Ensure operator compartment is clean and free of hazards
Tires & Wheels Inspection
- Check tire condition for cracks, cuts, or embedded debris
- Inspect tread depth and check for even wear
- Inspect wheels and rims for damage or cracks
Fluid & Battery System Check
- Verify hydraulic fluid level and check for leaks
- Check coolant system for blockages or leaks
- Ensure battery terminals are clean and free from corrosion
Mast & Forks Inspection
- Inspect forks for cracks, bends, and secure mounting
- Check mast chains for proper lubrication and tension
- Test mast lift and tilt functions for smooth operation
Safety Systems Test
- Test horn, lights, and alarms for proper function
- Ensure seatbelt and operator restraints are functional
- Verify emergency stop button operates correctly
Operational Performance Test
- Start the forklift and listen for unusual noises
- Test forward and reverse travel functions
- Verify lift, tilt, and steering functions under light load
Documentation & Reporting
- Record findings on the daily inspection checklist
- Report any faults to the supervisor immediately
- Do not operate forklift if any unsafe conditions are identified
